But projects in the wild are often far more complicated than you’ve been exposed to. In this talk, we’re going to discuss several techniques used by seasoned engineers to build and refactor controllers for features you’ll actually be working on.

- Led expansion of engineering on-call through process, training, and the creation of an internal guild focused on stability and response
- Developed implementation plans and oversaw their execution for both product and technical projects
- Worked closely with Product Management to prioritize feature development while also paying down technical debt accrued over time
- Worked with QA and CX directly triaging/prioritizing incoming bug reports achieving a reduction of bug SLA breaches from many tens of breaches monthy in early 2020 to 2 in 2021
- Contributed to the implementation of an incident management/RCA process achieving 99.92% uptime in 2020 and 99.99% uptime in 2021 so far
